Dr. Donald H. Horner, Jr. is a Professor of Leadership at Jacksonville University’s Davis College of Business, Florida, United States.
He has been Provost and Senior Vice President for University and Academic Affairs at Jacksonville University.
Dr. Horner holds a master’s degree in Transportation (Systems) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Master's and Doctorate in Sociology (Organizational Theory) from Stanford University.
Dr. Horner has served as a distinguished professor of leadership and management in several universities in the United States and has written and consulted extensively in the areas of organizational culture, leadership, and high performing teams. Dr. Horner earned a B.S. in General Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, has been an Endowed Chair and Distinguished Professor of Leadership Education in the Department of Leadership, Ethics, and Law at the United States Naval Academy, and was appointed by Secretary of Defense Les Aspin to serve on President Bill Clinton’s Joint Military Working Group Investigating Sexual Orientation and Military Service. He also worked as a futurist on the “Army After Next / Army 2020 Project”.
Dr. Horner served on the Advisory Council of the National Consortium for Character-Based Leadership Education. He is a Principal at Horner Consulting for over 20 years, providing professional consulting for business, military, academia, and government.
