Aurela Anastasi. Pedagogue and researcher in the field of Law since 1987; holds the title of “Professor” since 2005; is a Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Albania since 2009; Lawyer for the protection of human rights since 1996. She was elected for two consecutive terms as head of the Department of Public Law at the Faculty of Law, UT, while in short-term periods she was appointed vice-dean and dean of this Faculty. She has worked at the Department of Public Law for the teaching and development of the scientific disciplines of Constitutional Law and History of Law. She is one of the founders and drafters of the course “Comparative Constitutional Law”, “Gender Equality and the Law”, as well as of some of the teaching disciplines that are developed in the “Master” and “Doctorate” programs. She is the author and co-author of textbooks; has published research articles in national and international scientific journals; has delivered lectures and presentations at scientific activities both at home and abroad; has lectured as a visiting lecturer at several universities, both at home and abroad; is a member of the editorial boards of several scientific journals; has directed and participated in national and international research projects for the development of legislation and jurisprudence. She has provided assistance through representation as a lawyer in strategic court cases for the protection of human rights, in particular women's rights, equality and non-discrimination. She has been a member of several commissions and has led working groups within the framework of national constitutional and legal reforms. She has directed research and study work for students and young researchers. She is the initiator and leader of several scientific activities for young lawyers and the creation of pro bono organizations of students of Law faculties, with the aim of providing free legal assistance to those in need.
She is an external lecturer and expert in the continuous training of judges and prosecutors at the School of Magistrates. From 2004 onwards, she has been elected to the governing forums of the National Chamber of Advocates and a lecturer at the National School of Advocates. She is a member of the International Association of Constitutionalists (since 2014), as well as a member of the “European Commission for Democracy through Law”, the Venice Commission on behalf of Albania (2016-2020).
